Rye, NY- March 10, 2018– Real estate brokerage firm Houlihan Lawrence and Girls with Impact – the nation’s only entrepreneurship program just for girls -- today announced that they are teaming-up to hold the first venture competition in an effort to further the next generation of female entrepreneurial leaders and impact the local community.

Over the last six months, girls from 25 schools have undergone a 12-week, tech-enabled, “mini-MBA” to move from idea to business plan. Projects range from mentoring kids with cancer to Case Aid, one-touch mobile-based emergency help (View video).

“We couldn’t be more excited to team-up with Girls With Impact,” said Chris Meyers, president Houlihan Lawrence. “As we know ourselves, a little funding can go a long way and advance not just the girls, but their projects and our communities.”

Girls will compete for prize money of up to $1,000 for first-place.  The judges will be Houlihan Lawrence’s own agents.

“The girls are almost giddy as they gear-up to showcase their businesses,” said CEO Jennifer Openshaw. “They feel empowered and equipped – but this is just the beginning.”

Girls report a 140% increase in confidence to lead teams, and 90% say they will benefit from tangible business skills gain via this after-school academic enrichment program.

Openshaw said her goal is to equip 1,000 girls in the region as part of a larger effort to impact communities across the U.S. Girls may apply for the Summer program now
