11 Apps and Websites You Need for Back to School

We are all gearing up for a very different Back to School season. And while this is going to be different for everyone, we do know that staying organized will help you to establish the parameters for a productive and positive year ahead. Since we are living in a fast-paced digital world, we wanted to share some of the best apps and websites to keep you organized and on track this year (and beyond!). Check out our on-going list below:

Apps and Websites You Need for Back to School

1. Dictionary.com: This resource allows kids to amp up their vocabulary. The site also has words games as well as info on the origins of emojis and a word of the day.

2. Brainscape: This robust site allows you to make your own flashcards for studying and exams. The site also includes over one million flashcards, covering everything from math to science to art to vocations.

3. Socratic: This app supports science, social studies, math and literature, and more. Students can take pictures of their homework that they upload to app to get assistance and explanations.

4. Google Classroom: With many students going remote or having a hybrid schooling environment, Google Classroom is a great tool to communicate with teachers and participate in live lessons.

5. PiggyBot: Money-saving and financial literacy apps are always on our list and PiggyBot is a great way for kids to track their spending, set goals, and keep track of spending.

6. Houseparty: This social networking app is a fun way to stay connected to peers where you can play games and chat in large groups, which during COVID is a great alternative to meeting in person.

7. Duolingo: A free language learning app, Duolingo allows you to learn another language such as Spanish, French, German, Italian (and more!) right from your phone. This can be a great compliment to what you are doing at school, or a tool to help you to start learning a new language.

8. Cited: A citation app, this tool is a great reference/resource for your coursework and papers.

9. Khan Academy: A non-profit organization, Khan Academy’s mission to provide education for everyone. This includes personalized learning and content from Khan’s library of lessons from grade K-12 as well as some early college learning.

10. Alarm Clock Plus: Yes, it’s time to wake up with a schedule again. Alarm Clock Plus will help you set your clock the night before so you are ready and up on time.

11. YouTube: While we all know about the power of YouTube, there’s much to the site than gaming videos. There are millions of educational and instructional videos, covering every topic imaginable should you need help with school. Be sure to check out our channel for insights, advice, and news!
